Description: **Finished stilts with fur: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNRBjM_YaTs **How to make the mask that goes with these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tF9xdeypIZ4 **Added blueprints! As per requests: http://gryphus.googlepages.com/werewolfstiltblueprint.jpg These are for Halloween and the design is pretty simple, so I thought I'd share. This is the skeleton of the stilts without fur so you can see how they're made. Cheap to do using normal hardware -- this is a design that does NOT rely primarily on duct tape! Dragontrap ::: Favorites 2007-09-30 10:51:39 very nicely done and thanks for the idea. You could not only use this for a werewolf, but for other characters as well ^^! __________________________________________________
gryphern ::: Favorites 2007-09-30 16:14:22 I'd love to see someone be a raptor, and walk hunched really far over with a big 'ol dinosaur tail to counter-balance them, like the real deal. I did something similar one year, and carpet padding foam over PVC gives a great effect, depending on what kind you get and how you texture the foam. __________________________________________________
werehyenataur ::: Favorites 2007-09-30 18:12:24 very cheap. blueprints requested. __________________________________________________

kittengrrl ::: Favorites 2007-10-01 09:15:27 Amazing! These are one of the best stilt designs I've seen, and yet they are so simple it's fantastic! Not nearly as clunky and awkward/complicated as some digitigrade stilt designs I've seen. Re: raptor costume That would be SO awesome! __________________________________________________
FredrikHardin ::: Favorites 2007-10-01 17:45:17 Awesome, good job! __________________________________________________
LitheFider ::: Favorites 2007-10-01 23:09:03 OMG made of AWESOME. I like your great commentary too, LOL. "And this is the neighbors wondering what the hell we're doing." XD sweet. Thanks for the great idea / info!! I'll tell everyone about your awesome design / credit of course if I use this in an upcoming quadsuit. :D __________________________________________________
gryphern ::: Favorites 2007-10-02 05:25:36 Make sure you check out the mask how-to in this video's description, the articulated jaw is a good & cheap way to spiff up a costume. __________________________________________________ |
