eclipst ::: Favorites 2007-04-21 13:49:28 omg, thats funny, hope you guys didnt hurted the poor snake!! Anyway, the smell she releases comes from its mouth, and its a defense system to make belive to the depredator wanting to eat her that she is dead and rooting, and it can be like that for hours until the atacker leaves. Anyway, do you know if those kind of snakes are for sale, can you get them legaly? __________________________________________________
jackbnice ::: Favorites 2007-04-23 08:59:04 The smell does not come from the mouth... It comes from the clocia... I am a 9 year Vet Tech... Lots of experience with these kiddos ... Yes you can find them for sale at a few Reptile sites. But the captive born don't usually play dead ... We took pics and video and released him back into the wild... __________________________________________________
u2boyu2 ::: Favorites 2007-06-13 04:12:19 My sister and family found a wild one, pretty young. These types of snakes seem pretty gross, the bad smell and all! But being non poisonous,it needs it for defense. __________________________________________________
rljames54 ::: Favorites 2007-06-13 13:46:48 That is neat to watch! He really did look dead! __________________________________________________

jackbnice ::: Favorites 2007-06-26 00:35:25 They are rear fanged and if they are able to grab hold of you and chew then the area that is bitten will swell up and some times blister. __________________________________________________
missyfooler ::: Favorites 2007-06-27 22:50:29 Actually they're considered a threatened species in Ontario, which means if you see one in the wild you're supposed to report it to the Ministry of Natural Resources, as part of the Species at Risk program. __________________________________________________
SheDebris ::: Favorites 2007-07-11 00:38:38 I've only seen one of these in my life. It was about 14 inches long. My friend picked it up on a stick and it put on a much more dramatic show than this one did before playing dead. They sure are unique. __________________________________________________
jackbnice ::: Favorites 2007-07-12 08:25:37 They are very common here. __________________________________________________
snuggylilangel ::: Favorites 2007-07-15 07:58:17 aaaw, you disturbed it, but at least you didnt harm it, there are lots of turtle videos where people harm the turtle just to put their video on youtube, look at monster common snapping turtle. __________________________________________________
